Soup’s On! Cooking Class
January 14 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pmFree
Warm your belly up.
We are just beginning cold season here in the Quad Cities. There is nothing that warms you better than a nice bowl of homemade soup. Sometimes it is challenging deciding what recipes to make, but we are here to help with that! In this class, we will be covering a number of recipes that can be made to fit any diet. Soup is perfect for making in big batches and saving for later!
Try a new twist to beef stew.
Feijoada is a Brazilian beef stew that is full of exotic and delicious flavors. Bump up your beef stew to the next level by incorporating some traditional ingredients! The flavor of this soup comes from the seared beef along with kielbasa (polish sausage). Poblano peppers, beef broth, tomatoes, orange juice, and black beans round out this healthy and hearty stew.
Instant pot recipes and recommendations.
Did you get an instant pot this holiday gift giving season? If you are not sure what an instant pot is, it is an electric pressure cooker that speeds up cooking in the kitchen. Make a soup in under 20 minutes with an electric pressure cooker or ‘instant pot’. Learn how to make ‘Instant Pot Chicken White Bean Spinach Soup’ during this class. This is a healthy and easy chicken based recipe with tasty subtle flavors, perfect for an upset stomach.
Vegan Moroccan flavor!
Our vegan soup option will be a ‘Slow Cooker Moroccan Chickpea Stew’. This is another soup inspired by traditional roots and ingredients. Explore a little bit of Morocco by making this stew at home. It stacks up in the crockpot with butternut squash, chickpeas, and lentils. Making this vegan soup PROTEIN PACKED!
